OK  he pissed his boss off by asking for money to spend and get back home his boss said no so now it will be a longer stay but he is going to work like it or not I can't take much more he has to go and soon I enjoy the company at times but I also enjoy my silence which is hard to get when the tv is constantly on??? well stood up for me and get attitude getting ready to send him to the shelter if this shit don't stop SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the most we help an addict for a few days and then let them know they need to learn to DEPEND on a higher power not people and let that higher power guide where they go. If you drop them off at a shelter thats just part of there journey. Hell my own mother dropped me off at a shelter with a plastic bag of clothes, that was part of the pain I needed to go through and what was really bad was what I put her through, having to drop her son off in another town in front of a homeless shelter, cant even imagine how painful that was ......

The most effective strategy I can use to take the focus off of my own recovery is to divert all my energy to the problems of someone else. That is not "working the 12th step"...that is avoiding the first step. IMHO.
