I am an ICU RN that just two weeks ago got caught taking percocet, also taking it from pyxis at work. I live in AZ, work, or used to work for a major health care system here. I was terminated but told I could come back in 3 mos after I went thru treatment. Is there anyone here that lives in AZ, specifically the Phoenix area that may be able to give me some insight? I am currently going thru the CANDO program and waiting to be released to go back to work. My plan is to go back to the hospital I was at. Ive been there 10 yrs and can't see myself going any place else. Any advice or insight to this would be great. Im struggling to keep my head and stay focused on good things.
Get some support and get to meetings, get a sponsor, work the steps, get into service and get a higher power, do that for the rest of your life and you'll be fine
Be careful who u share that with Deborah.. Anonymity is maintained here but as u can see, this is an open forum and therefore accessible to anyone at all.. Ive learnt the hard way tha what we share bhonestly sometimes can go against us...
I dont want to lecture or advice but there are a few wome here who sponsor other women..
Recently, on my suggestions, a female who I am attached to, took it pon herself to connect with another woman here and I can see a chage already,, one for the better...
Welcome aboard and hope you find all u ned here to be in recovery !!! God Bless u and have a great day !!

It's important that you get to meetings. Your area has plenty. I understand if you are shy about this, but your future (indeed, your life) may depend on it. My home group meets at noon 7 days a week, and there are 5 members who are RN's. They prefer the noon meet because it is easier to protect their anonymity, while still being active in recovery. Each of them has completed the necessary programs. Two who had their licenses suspended have gotten them back. All are working at satisfying positions. they have accomplished this not in spite of going to na but because of NA. Please give yourself a break and give it a try. Keep us posted on your progress.
PS NA.org follow the links to 'find a meeting'. Good luck and God bless you.
Oh, at NA.org you will also find links to your area helpline number. These can be very helpful. Depending on the area there can be someone manning this phone line 24/7 they can answer your questions about local resources.
