Just for todayits a comforting thought. If we try to live in the past, we may find ourselves torn by painful, disquieting memories. The lessons of our using are not the teachers we seek for recovery. Living in tomorrow means moving in with fear. We cannot see the shape of the secret future, and uncertainty brings worry. Our lives look overwhelming when we lose the focus of today.
Living in the moment offers freedom. In this moment, we know that we are safe. We are not using, and we have everything we need. Whats more, life is happening in the here and now. The past is gone and the future has yet to arrive; our worrying wont change any of it. Today, we can enjoy our recovery, this very minute.

Early morning reading right along the JFT" says "When times are good ,behappy,but when times are bad,consider:God has made them one as well as theother!.I say to my Higher Power,help me to lean on you even when I understand neither the good times or the bad times.You understand them all and I put my trust in you.! By living in 'this" day ,putting my trust in my Higher Power and practicing spiritual principles portrayed through our solution "the steps,traditions and concepts no matter what happens this day I have a place to go to continue my freedom!Living in the grace of God and the NA WAY!

Our purpose is to remain clean,just for today,and to carry the message of recovery.
Living one day at a time is one of the great gifts on NA. I takes time and effort to do it, but once I started getting into the habit of focusing on just for today, my life got a whole lot better.
The older service manual, the Working Guide to our Service Structure said that the "primary purpose of an NA member is to stay clean on a daily basis and carry the message to the still suffering addict by working with others".....
Simple, brief to the point it reminds me that Just for today I dont use no matter what,, Just for today, I will reach out to the still suffering addict from the group, service committee, 12 Step calls etc.
Just for tody an addict, any addict never has to use again, no matter what !!
