WELL - IN THE LAST WEEK AND HALF - WE LOST 2 KNOWN ADDICTS - THAT WERE COMING AROUND - THE DISEASE TOOK THEM OUT..AND TRULY BASED ON THE CHOICES WE MAKE IN OUR LIFE - EFFECTS OUR LIFE AND OTHERS..I FINALLY GET THAT - PRETTY SAD WHEN WE MAKE A CONSCIOUS CHOICE TO PICKUP AGAIN AND TRULY NOT KNOWING IF THIS IS THE TIME I WILL DIE.  I HEARD IN A MEETING MOST ADDICTS DON'T GET TO DIE - WE JUST DIE SPIRITUALLY AND WALK AROUND IN A ZOMBIE STATE OF MIND - THAT IS DEATH ALSO..WHEN THEY SAY JAILS, INSTITUTIONS OR DEATH..PLEASE REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR THE ADDICTS STILL SUFFERING - IT WAS ONCE ME..THANKS EVERYONE

Thanks Feisty,your absolutely correct ,walking with tombstones in there eyes!Only by God's grace and continued work can we show up here or anywhere for that matter!In prayer and reflection...........

So sorry for what has happended-so sad. By the time we think we are making a conscious choice to use we are already totally overpowered by the active addiction...it is not a choice... it just masquarades as a choice while it kills us and alienates us from those who love and care about us.

Rarely do we fail if we're working the program as suggested, those who don't just aren't ready , don't have the willingness , humility , honesty and open mindedness that it takes, there on there own journey and all we can do is hope and pray for there bottom to hit soon.God will direct them and help once there they admitt powerlessness


like what raman said, by Gods grace we who remain clean should have great deal of gratitude.

Just for today I'm grateful for my recovery and the life I have chosen to live.......I too pray for the addict that still suffers from the insanity of active addiction......
