Hi, my name is Alison and I'm a recovering addict with nine and a half months clean who is involved in a nasty custody battle; trying to get my children back. Anybody had any positive experiences/ My attorney is an "18b lawyer", appointed by the judge, and I don't think she really cares about the job she's doing for me. I'm on SSI and can't afford a private attorney.
I DON'T HAVE KIDS BUT SPONSOR WOMEN WHO DO - WHAT I HAVE NOTICED NOT ONLY WITH SPONSORING BUT WATCHING OTHER MEN / WOMEN FIGHT FOR THE KIDS - BOTTOM LINE STAY CLEAN - SHOW UP TO ALL APPTS / COURTS ETC. KEEP YOUR SIDE OF THE STREET CLEAN AND BELIEVE THAT TODAY YOU ARE A CHANGED PERSON - AND EVEN IF SOME OF THE STUFF IN THE PAST MAY BE VALID - OWN IT! BUT ALSO SPEAK YOUR TRUTH ABOUT WHO YOU ARE TODAY..HOPE THAT HELPS - AND DON'T FORGET TO BREATHE - AND LOOK AT WHATS BEST FOR THE CHILDREN - ADULTS SEEM TO GET INTO THEIR OWN STUFF AND THE KIDS GET LOST IN THE BATTLE
Don't forget the power of prayer. Pray for your attorney, your children, the judge, and of course your husband. Stay vigilant with your program. Serenity can be contagious.
