My name is Munish, and I was addicted to Brown Sugar, Charas, afeem, Pills, cough Syrup etc. I was sent to NA Rehabilitation Centre in Aug 2007, where i spent 2-months. After coming back i remained clean for 1 month more and i was relapsed after 3-months with one of my fellow friends when we were going to attend NA meeting. Now till date though i have not taken Brown Sugar but still for sometime i take cough syrup and after few days i change and take pills and after few days charas and the circle is going on and for my wife i am not addicted to one thing, but deep in my heart i know that i am ruining my life. I am still addicted to cough Syrups and using but I want to stop. It is ruining my life and I need help. If there is anyone out there with some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
In my experience, I am drug addict, which means I have problems with all mind/mood altering drugs including alcohol. What works for me is going to NA meetings, working the 12 steps, getting a sponsor, prayer/meditation, and getting connected with other addicts through fellowship and service work, and not using no matter what. You learn more about all of these recovery tools at NA meetings, so do yourself a favor and start going.

Welcome Munish! thank you for sharing a beginning ,with abstinence of the healing process.....There are someways you can stay connected through the internet. We also have a pamphlet#IP#21(INFORMATION PAMPHLET) that is helpful..You can google NA.ORG AND RESEARCH ALL OUR LITERATURE,IP PAMPHLETS AND SUCH.Obviously we feel, face to face meetings, total surrender and working in our solution "the steps' work best for us,but you can stay clean ,a day at a time, until you are able to move forward to another direction.....Keep cming back here, try and find support near you and share as if you life depends on it!!!Our suggestions always remain the same,,,total surrender, make meetings(when possible for you) find a sponsor, work the steps(with a sponsor,or for now become familiar with them)and do random acts of kindness that will continue to help you as one helps another can bring us out of our self centered being and into another realm!! Let us know how you are doing!!!

If you want to stop then by all means do so. Check out the detox facilities in your area and check in. There will be pain, but remember.... you never have to feel this way again. Peace to you
Munish - glad you are here - Not using is one of the hardest thing an addict can do - and I do say CAN DO - many of us have succeded and so can you - But we Must stop in order to stay clean - Suggestion - go to meetings - stop using long enough to get clearer and see whats in store for your life
