This morning as I checked my mail before work,I get a message from my 22 year old daughter.It says"dad/mom I was going thru my journal when I was 12 and I thought I write you this poem.It talked of how she wanted to make amends for her actions that eventually led us to having her become a ward of the state from 12-15 years.(PINS,now called Diversion program)she was on probation,reported weekly and if didnt adhere to rules would be sent to a shelter for troubled youth(our consent)She said she was sorry for taking quarters,dollars from the drawers,pain that she caused we didnt need to suffer and her general attitude.Now living spiritual principles that align with my faith beliefs have been key in  my ability to weather the storms of life and parenting.(my wife very God centered)This early morning poem brought joy to our hearts.Sarah has heard me speak of our 3rd/11th step early morning meditations  seeking and turning over my will to my HP,before I leave my bed,our 5th step not only admitting to God but others and freeing the guilt of my past and the anger sometimes from others through our 8th/9th steps.We also worship the God of our understanding together which just ties all things up with each other. I coninually am learning that each day I continue to work the spiritual principles of Narcotics Anonymous in my life,I continually seek my Higher Power and most importantly try and llive whats going on ,my actions mean ohhh so much more than anything I can say.I have a 24 year old son,in recovery from Heroin addiction,a daughter  who is using spiritual principles in her life and doesn't even attend a program except of her faith beliefs and loving and caring people all around me. A fathers joy for sure...A spiritual writing that has always been pertinent to me with both of my younger children(22/24)says"Teach a child in the way they should go,and when they are old they will not turn from it"!!!   One day at a time seems we are all  travelling to get there...Thanks for listening.....
