TODAY I GOT TO EXPERIENCE GROWTH AND REALLY STAND IN IT..ONE OF OUR IN/OUT MEMBERS CAUSED A SCENE - BOY DID I GET EXCITED INSIDE - (DRAMA) BUT I SAT - THEN COMPASSION CAME OVER ME FOR THE ADDICT WHO STILL SUFFERS AND THE REALITY - "THIS SHIT AIN'T NO GAME" IT'S LIFE AND DEATH - AND IF WE DON'T GET THIS ONE DAY AT A TIME - WE ARE TRULY FUCKED - (FORGIVE THE CUSSING) TODAY I HAVE PASSION FOR MY LIFE AND THE ONES WHO STRUGGLE - BUT ON THE OTHER HAND - IT'S NOT ABOUT BRINGING TOXIC TO THE ROOMS IN OUR MESSAGE - THAT ONLY DESTROYS AND DESTROY SELF - I BELIEVE IF YOU SPEAK INTO THE GOOD, LEAN INTO THE GOOD - GOOD WILL COME (MUCH SOONER) IF YOU LEAN INTO CHAOS, DRAMA, NEGATIVITY, USING, SLANDERING, BLAMING - YOU ARE TRULY LEANING INTO DEATH - ON SOME LEVEL AND THAT LEADS TO ISOLATION, FEAR, NO WAY OUT..GOSH I AM SO GLAD I AM CLEAN AND IN RECOVERY - HUGE DIFFERENCE
So good to hear you! I have seen some Drama in the rooms since I have been here. The beauty is that it is not me causing it anymore! (Just for Today!) Thank-God I never had to use over my drama and thank-god I didn't have to use over my judgement of other peoples drama.
It took me time to realize that messages of recovery are found when there is upheval in our rooms. Sometimes negative...when the participants use and sometimes positive...when the participants stay clean and change.
Hey Feisty! Thanks for sharing that.It always reminds ,like our literature tells us"some are sicker than others"and when these situations occur,and they will, it gives me an even deeper sense of gratitude that I am able to feel tolerance,compassion and want to stay out of the drama and work even harder on keeping myself together.As we always say, but by the grace of God ,their goes I...!

Im not one of those that became a square in recovery,, I still love the social dramas and the psycho dramas that take place in our rooms. Whats life without a little spice ???

Drama is ok, but when things get openly hostile it frightens me. I'm talking about chairs flying, screams, threats, etc. Haven't seen any members physically go at it but there have been times when it was a miracle it didn't. It sorta confirms the stereotype. I can just hear "what do you expect from a bunch of drug addicts" There are those in the churches who are ok with AA but not NA. Teri, you demonstrate some sophisticated spiritual development by being able to feel compassion to those who disrupt a meeting. Good for you.
this is something I cna relate to. There is alot of drama that goes on in my area. I try to remain apart from it but i too have a tendency to gossip. It is one of my character deffects that I am working on. what I try to do is recognize if I am getting involved in drama and remove myself from the situation. Somedays are better than others and today has been a blessed day. i am an addict named David
