My name is Ben from Pasadena, CA. I secretary a meeting on Tuesday nights @ 7:30pm-9:00pm. I'm having a hard time finding leaders (who qualify for 10-15 minutes at the beginning of the meeting) and I had a great idea...why don't I find leaders from around the country via Skype? I can easily put someone on a 21" flatscreen monitor so everyone in the room (pretty small -usually about 10 addicts show up) and they can lead...it'd be perfect, especially considering that it's a candle light meeting. 

Anyway, if you're interested, please feel free to message me via facebook, my name is Benjamin Epstein, or you can e-mail me at benepstein88@gmail.com, so I can get to know you a little bit. The meeting is an IP topic meeting, which means that every week we pick an Informational Pamphlet (or sometimes an excerpt from a booklet or text)

Fabulous idea Ben,, congrats.
the virtual world has opened many new possibilites in recovery..

As Im Skype connected, and have used Skype a lot, Im interested...

cool use of technology.
I see no reason why this shouldn't work.
I don't have a webcam or skype setup but many do.
Good luck with your noble project.

Hey Raman, the meeting is @ 7:30pm Pacific time, which would be 8:00am the following morning in Indian standard time...er, so that'd be 8:00am wednesday morning. Pretty early :)

Awesome Raman! what the heck is a SKYPE!!! thats like a kite right that goes higher in the sky!!!  :) technology ,gotta love it,still trying figure out answering my stupid cell phone without hanging up on people!! kids think its funny, NOT!!!!

Hi Ben,

I hope this finds you well. I am Andy an English addict now living in Romania-Eastern Europe. My clean date is December 25th 2006 I got sober/clean in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai)

I love recovery and until 3 weeks ago was active in our Dubai Fellowship. I just moved here to Romania 3 weeks ago and I am dying for a meeting in English. I would love to take part in your online skype meeting so I can hear a msg of recovery from your group.

Hello I was wondering if there are any early skype meetings I am in eastern time and 9pm and 10pm meetings are to late. Also do I need to contact this sight thru skype. I am vslack0222 on skype, do I need to add  the group skype? I really would like to take part in skype recovery meetings.
