Hey all how s it going My name is Rick go by Zrick online ,I am an addict my choice of drug is Marijuana.I am currently in treatment program thru our county court system. Been in the program since April 18 I do believe.Have not had the desire to use kinda thought bout it and went away.Just got to keep doing the right thing and stay from people and things where i might want to use.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU GOT A GRIP ON WHATS GOING ON WITH YOU.Have you thought about making meeting,checking out a sponsor,workin some spiritual principles??Drug use,for many of us,is the immediate thing we need to put down,but our lives are full of shortcomings and character things that we can address by incorporating spiritual principles in our lives.Not only that ,you can learn about service,to give back to others who may still be in need of help! Hope to see you back here.Good work man!! peace........

yes i have been thinking about going to meetings here around the house I have this driver licinse thingy dont have one so i have been looking online for some kept coming back to this site so I signed up. Seems like it is a pretty legit site.So I am here will be online tonite if there is a meeting going on thanks

Welcom ZRick - yes this is a pretty awesome site - plenty fellowship - I do encourage you to get to meetings and start getting plugged in that way - find a sponsor and walk it out - you will be surprised at the growth that will take place in you and of course don't pick up in between meetings.. Again Welcome

depending on the area you live, helpline NA can indicate if members would like to pick you up for meetings and then drop you back....

Hey Rick,
Glad you found us and are in recovery.
Thinking about using is about the most natural thing an addict will think about, so don't stress over that. It's what you do with that thought that matters.
Let me add my voice to those who encourage you to go to meetings. There is simply no substitute for that.
The rest will fall into place if the willingness is there.
Keep coming back man.

Hello!! I to am new here and new to recovery. I am an addcit, alcohol and cocaine. I will be 30 days clean on 7/8/10!! I have recently joined a meeting here in my hometown and got a sponsor. So far I am feeling great......although I know there are still going to be ruff days ahead as well. I have a new higher power that is helping guide me and keep strong. I wish you well on your journey!!

Rick, do you also happen to make face-to-face NA meetings? If not, just try one to see how it feels smile.gif

Also, recovery is all about working the Steps in our daily lives, the Steps are the solution that make our recovery possible, as our literature clearly says... You can work them anyway you want except alone.

So try to interact with NA members on a regular basis, either face-to-face, through phone or online like you're doing now. Identify a person and their shares you're attracted with, with whom you feel comfortable, and ask for Sponsorship. Once you've taken a Sponsor, you can start the process of working the Steps, with help and guidance of your Sponsor. Best wishes & Fellowship Hugs!
