Chair from my home group asked me if I would share at the thrusday H&I meeting at a Rehab center tonight..What a blessing.I talked briefly of where my decent ino oblivion started, where I ended up and where I am today preceding by talking about "a simple mesage of recovery from addiction always ringing true and being something valuable to share..No big drugalogue, more focused on surrender and staying clean and how only God's grace and my working of our program of Narcotics Anonymous has helped me....After sharing, it was great, first guy says "you know I don't like when you talk about making meetings, sponsors, steps and all that stuff.that shuts me right down and turns me off.I dont like all the literature talk and sounds to much like a "guru"(where does that word come from:)He said I want to hear all the war stories etc.. few minutes later raises his hand again and says"but I am selfish, don't want to do no work and dont like all that hugging stuff (SO YOU KNOW WE SEARCHED HIM OUT AT END OF MEETING GAVE HIM A BIG HUG AND HE GRINNED,WE TOLD HIM WE LOVE HIM).Mixed group of guys sharing clean and sober from both programs,,Rest of group very inquisitive and very thankful for us bringing program to the facility. My spiritual readings tell me to "love my neighbor as I love myself" can't get no better than that..What a blessed way to end this day....We passed out meeting lists as a couple guys were getting out soon and they asked about meetings in the area. The guy from AA said it was wonderful because he always thought NA wasn't tolerant to alcoholics,he said they don't like NA guys sharing about drugs in the AA meetings at the facility. He was genuinely happy that he could identify and share from his heart. His eyes were alive.....One more opportunity to be an empowered agent of God and one addict sharing with anothert the message that an adidct.any addict,.........Goodnight
