my friend's daughter is an addict and has gone through detox and rehab, approx a month. she is being told that she has no more insurance coverage, as of two more weeks. what are the next available options for her if she is over 21, homeless, and has no more coverage and no more available cash?
Many have fallen on the same thing and have came thru ok - I was one of them - I went to meetings, got a sponsor, hang with folks that aren't using - and in that you would be surprise how many recovering addicts are willing to help or guide in direction for housing - also I don't know if there is an Oxford House in your area - but it is pretty awesome a place were addicts live in nice homes and live your life you do have to pay rent - but that is one of the things we do when we start to clean up - get jobs and our life back - It truly all works out - It takes some work and willingness - Hope all works out - the bottom line is to "not take anything" and all will work out
Yes up here in Poughkeepsie New York most places have to release you to an outpatient center that will give you emegency shelter for a little bit etc.I agree with Terry, get in contact asap with you local NA fellowship ,share your plight and I am sure someone will be able to give you some help.We also have Salvation Army up here that does a wonderful job for people in those situations.LITERATURE IN OUR FELLOWSHIP TELLS US "SPONSORSHIP FOR NEWCOMERS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GROUP.iT IS IMPLIED AND INFORMAL IN ITS APPROACH.BUT IT IS THE HEART OF THE NA WAY OF RECOVERY FROM ADDICTION,ONE ADDICT HELPING ANOTHER! There is another way and may be difficult to get it hooked up but its worst day will be better than anyday out on the tiles!Good luck,go with God and it will work out

Also try the local Homeless and Housing Bureau or department of the State. Should have resources. Larger churches, also, sometimes have great connections to help out.
