I was taught when all else has failed - the bottom line is WE DON'T PICK UP - boy does that seems to work in every area of my life - If I don't pick up I won't get loaded - One thing I found absolute - Hello to my Online NA Family

I try and remember that sometimes "we cant save face and ass at the same time" (Basic Text), so Id be better off saving ass rather than making a complete fool of myself or worse still, be at physical or emotional risk.

Good morning Terry,
Your share reminds me of a scene from the HBO mini series "The Pacific"
This WW2 marine veteran is talking about a horrible battle. He says "sometimes all you can do is pray and hang on"
I knew exactly what he was talking about.
How's the weather by you?
Summer finally came to S. Florida. Hit 90 the other day for the first time this year. Very, very late I might add.

Don't use no matter what, come hell or high water!

I liked this when I heard this as a newcomer. I used it quite well to stay away whenever I had a craving to use...

I took me a few years to actually realize that I don't have to, and that's a great freedom for me today.

Also, something I read in the NA Way magazine a few years back: "there's no pain or crisis or adversity that using can't make worse."

I love that statement, JUST DON'T USE!!


If I had the ability to do that, I wouldn't need the program..

I am powerless over drugs and alcohol.

My life is unmanagable cause I can't manage the decison to STOP..

Therefore, for the real addict, just not using is not an option.
