hi my name is courtney. i attended a rehabilitation program and have been sober ever since (17 months) i'm new to this site and contemplating going to my first NA meeting in person next tuesday night. I've never been to one so what should i expect?
Hi and welcome. You should expect to be greeted warmly. If it would make you feel more comfortable, go to NA.org and follow the link for "area hotline phonenumbers" You might be able to find a woman who will accompany you to a meeting. Good luck in your recovery, hope to see you posting here.
Cooper,Hello glad to have you here.You should go to the NA Meeting with no hesitation,go in sit down and try and listen to what is being said.Be prepared for someone to give you a meeting list,all newcomers get one.IT has phone numbers of other addicts on it to call for support.All of us are equal in NA.We are all addicts,age,money,poor none of these care addicts are all addicts no matter what.Come back here ans post how your meeting went we all would like to hear.Ask us anything we will try and help.
