Hey Tisa! for me I would just tell someone right out,'I need to be treated with respect'.We teach people how to treat us..I would hope that I would always use spiritual principles in my replies though. Some people will need directness and not beat around the bush approach but clearing the air immediately ,for me, always works best. We had a situation in our homegroup last week, one guy selling cd's in parking lot, other guy yelling across room to knock it off, jeopardizes our facility and sends poor message to newcomers. Both were wrong(5years and 9 years clean time)one guy for approaching in an attack mode without placing principles first and other guy for saying he was gonna knock him the F out and for selling cd's.A case of where respect ,wasn't used in one person addressing another ,in a group setting , about a serious issue for the group, leading to chaos! Was a step meeting on the 3RD step!...This disease manifests itself in "all areas " of our lives!!.Just like degrees of sickness ,there are also degrees of recovery, progression I would feel being a goal to work towards...

I would tell them that we are suppose to treat each other nice.We are all addicts or alcoholics. No one is better than the other. If they kept it up team work usually helps to quiet them down. They are not working there program.
I find it best when confronting people to be non confrontational. Specifically what I mean is that I don't tell them what they did wrong, or what they should do, or how they made me feel, etc. I approach with something like "did I do something to make you angry" or something else that focus's on what I may have done to provoke the hostile act. This usually works best for me if my goal is to resolve, diffuse and regain peace of mind.
