My demonds are starting to kick up again

Hello every body , I have'nt visited this site for a while, as I'm sure you all know that is the way it is when we get complacent, but slowly the urge to furioususe has been creeping up on me lately, for no apparent reason, just boredom I guess, I been going to meetings regurlarly, and doing very little step work, I'm coming up on 4 months clean aww but I must say, once again I'm forgetting the pain and misery which got me here, I could use as few pointers from any one who might relate, as to how it feels, and what I should or could do  4 months into recovery, thanks.

Hello Hugo! good to see you again.ITS ALSO GOOD YOU CAN 'see yourself coming " and reachin out...For me,The steps along side my realtionship with God is what keeps me going forward.I also find sharing at meetings when I really dont  feel like it helps me get to the "exact nature" of somethings going on I may not be admitting.Like maybe Im tired of this,I think I could be alright now ,just cause im going to the club dont mean I got to party, etc.Sometimes I just get mad cause I cant be like everybody else,You know how come Johnny can use and drink and then be okay but when I do im twisted and off on a run.Forgetting my basics, like you said the pain and not totally surrenderin to it..Congrats on 4 months man,any day clean for us is a miracle. Can you offer to do some service at your homegroup, you know greeter, coffee, early set up ,late clean up.Will keep you around people in recovery a little longer and let your share even more. Some of my best meetings been on the ride home with some recovering addicts after the meeting!Try and shake yourself up a little,do something you don't ordinarily do.Train for a 10k race, join a different kind of group get your mind refocused.Do you have a sponsor?Do you have a running partner in recovery to hang with so your not isolating.? We all get weary  and complacent the key is getting back to the spiritual principles of the program and share your feelings as if your life depends on it,and for us it  really means that.Recovery and relapse talk about "progression of recovery being an uphill journey and without effort we start down the hill again, but the progression of the disease is ongoing even during abstinence. This thing always waiting, lurking and telling us liesThanks for letting us know how you are doing and know that you are not alone...dig in man!!!         peacesmile

The suggestions are the same now as they were in the past.
I have been told that if I do the following with sincerity on a daily basis,
then my recovery is probably safe.
So far it has worked out for me.
I do the following in this order pretty faithfully everyday

Pray
read some NA literature
Work the steps
call my sponsor
Go to a meeting
Pray

Good luck

Hi Hugo,,thanks for sharing man.
Thanks for reminding me.

At 4 months it was like meetings Meditations and mastrubations,,, ever tried that man,,
Ha, ha, ha !!!
aw shucks just kidding bro,,
cool scene bud, seems to me youre doing the !ght thing in sharing all that you are sharing.

When I share like that, others begin to care for me, then I dont have to recover alone!
Hugs and take it easy,,,its all going to be allright .
Keepcomingback !

Thank you very much my friends, I'm feeling a lot better wink, and like most of you suggested I am getting involved, that is a major key for sure, resently at meetings i have heard stories from both extreems, a young man had been missing, but was found on an abandomed building dead with a needle still stuck n his arm, he was 26 yo and another young man left a treatment facility and once again he was found dead in his room at home, OD on  oxycotton, and then a good friend who's has 4 yrs clean found a daughter on Face book who he had not seen since her birth 26 years ago, needles to say this man was blown away and overwhelm emotionaly , he found that his daughter was eager to meet him and they did,  I been lucky to witness this information first hand, and lucky to be able to analize the consequenses or rewards of our actions, thank you all, another day clean!!!!
