Thanks Manon, for looking up the whole quote. Apparently the author is as you said and Nelson Mandella only used it as part of his inaquiral address in 1994. In any case, It is very beautiful, and very powerful. Something to read daily. At one time in my life I actually lived up to the light found within those words. Now, as I struggle daily, I only catch glimpses, but once you have had spiritual enlightenment and experienced that beautiful light, no experience on Earth or in Heaven is a substitute for it. For me it's not only about surrender, but re-surrender. Sometimes you can lose your way. So everyday for me is another rebirth, another shot at redemption.
