The best pleasures come from the simple things in life:
Walking through the park in early evening. Sitting on the porch with friends. Burning a candle with a favorite scent. Sleeping on a cool pillow on a hot night. Going barefoot after a rain and having mud squish between my toes. The smell of baking bread. When my love snorts with laughter. Petting my cat. Holding my baby.
The little things are what make life bearable. My little things are always better than my big things. Without little pleasures, life would not be worth it.
Hi Keli!! A morning long run before sun comes up feeling the physical power and spiritual being as my body is engulfed with endorphins and knowing that just by using my legs,my heart and my mind that my God who has allowed me this simple pleasure.Talk about simplicity! I am blessed to be able to do this...

There are few things better than the feeling I get after being at a good NA meeting. Sometimes I can actually feel a spirit of recovery in the room. I can always count on my bicycle to give me pleasure. I love riding around the neighborhood waving to the other folks out for a stroll or a ride. I really enjoy the physical aspect and the feeling of the breeze.
Today's sunshine on the melting snow & my new little high-tech aquarium (used to have a 75 gal. bowfrontt w/awesome fish--but no room here--now have a 6 gal. nanno w/neons--oh well). I am grateful for these simple pleasures! And without being drug-free and growing in "recovery", I would not have such appreciation. I'd be dead.
