Hey Eric way to go man! keep on working..for me it was ensuring I asked the God of my understanding for strength to face my fears of pouring my guts out, things I never told anyone since I was like old enough to remember, not even the priest..I also let my sponsor know what I was doing and why and I just poured it out.Couple spots broke down uncontrollably( after discussing when my best friend killed himself after a night of partying together)sponsor let me know that was something I didnt even know was there after 31 years(shot himself on dec 17th 1978,)feeling guilt, loss, anger etc. continued to be totally honest trying to remember everything even over what was written,Things just keep poppin.Felt like I had just ran a road race and also like the weight of the world was off me and the freedom and spiritual awakening were overwhelming.Aint no cheating here or it dont work...this is my stuff....go for it man, keep it God centered and it will release you.Let us know how it goes!!!!    peacesmile

Way to go!

I don't have any suggestions, really. All I can tell you is that after my 5th Step, I felt as light as air!

Congratulations Eric on completing your Fourth Step! Way to go brother, keep at it smile.gif

One exercise I remember my Sponsor giving me through out my Fourth and Fifth Stepwork is that I write at least 3 good things that I did/experienced everyday and to share them either at a meeting or one-on-one with either my Sponsor or with another member. This kept me in good stead, there was a lot I found about myself this way too, and some of it was actually real good stuff smile.gif

At times, I have felt that it's very easy for an addict like me to go on a self-whipping spree, vomiting everything bad and shameful and evil that I am, even at my shares at meetings. What's more difficult is actually acknowledging the good in me, the good things happening in my life, my successes, my joys, my thoughts and feelings that expressed love and care for self and others... but they are a very important part of the Fourth Step Inventory also... I believe, to come to know us, fully, not just our dark side, really helps in looking at even our not-so-attractive sides with the bright light that also shines within us.
