Christmas is round the corner and the situation can get very spiritual, with the spirit of giving and kindness. Ive always been Blessed with more shows and more income, and God knows that this year I need that income real bad, not having worked one odd year !
Fun and enjoyment and good tidings all around, what with shopping, bonhomie etc.
However for us recovering addicts, there maybe troublesome situations to face.
Not only the heavy drinking and the partying scenes that can draw me away from recovery, but what aout the subtle things that pose a danger too ?
Take for example the plum or fruit cake we all love to gorge on ? What if it has rum or wine flavouring ?
Isnt it the recovering addicts responsibility to find out first ?
Over the years there have been the many that said that first of all these plu cakes cxannot be made without flavouring and that the flavouring in the cakes are not intoxicating or a threat in any way to clean time ?
In all sincierity, I ask you good folks how you handle these situations ?
Thanks in advance !

Nearly got the rum dealt to me in Tiramisu or some shit like that in Sheffield the nite before I left. The house mate's girlfriend had baked the cake and offered it to me, I put in in my mouth and instinctively spat the Goddamn thing out. The chocolate section of that cake tasted weird, or maybe I was uts bein paranoid. all said and done, I cannot take any chances; I was also thin on meetings having been busy packing up.
Id just asked her if there was rum and she'd said no.
The incident reminds me that recovery is my responsibility !!
