Going to The Garden Of The Gods in the Shawnee National Forest. We ended up hiking all over the Shawnee, had a picnic lunch, then took a road-trip, rode the Ferry, drove all over Kentucky, then finally back to Illinois and home 12 hours later!!! GREAT day!!! I went with a fella I'd met on an online dating service... it was our first actual date... LOL!

Vermont, from St. Johnsbury, cools stuff, like seeing the Dog Chapel and the Antheneum, drove down along the Mad River-beautiful-with my sister, another healing-in-recovery miracle. That was last fall.

We traveled to Iceland for 14 days.It was a real experience.Live volcano's glaciers, green fields.Iceland is green in summer other than lava fields.Green is white with ice and snow most of the time.We went last year in august 2008,the food is expensive but like everwhere they eat odd things.Moby Dick on a stick is whale meat barbecued,Puffin birds are a special treat, they bury shark meat for 6 months dig it up and eat the meat from the center of the fish,it stinks like hell, gross.Smoked salmon for breakfast, lunch and dinner .The whole country is rather expensive.Every hotel or motel have geothermal hot tubs, they have geothermal spas which have small ponds full of natural heated hot pools of silica, great for your skin, you feel like new after being in there for a hour. They do have AA and NA there ,for which we visited. We were there to sight see not go to nightly meetings.I went with my wife, for which we had not been away for many years because of my bad heart and sleep apnea, diabetic problem, asthma, other than that we had a great time.We always rent a car, drove 800 miles while we were there.Fun,Fun,Fun.
