Friends and fellows, I share with joy the good news Ihad last morning about the hep.c. treatment.
The nurse specialist informed me that I had cleard the irus in just four weeks of treatment. Im greatful to God and the support I got from those of you who cared.
But, and yes, the big but is that I had to complete treatment, so another 18 weeks of injections and medications, and hopefull this problem will be sorted out for the rest of my life !

Man I hope it stays gone you hang in there Raman the roads gonna get tough but stick it out, I need to go get some tests done I am showing signs in my nails on both my hand and feet , liver disease symptoms also EXTREME fatigue at times.
With God's love, all sems possible Vin, may you heal my dear buddy. Like the prayer says Vin, "I pry not that the road is easy, but if be difficult indeed, please God grant me unflinching faith that I am doing your will, and the strength to keep on !"
Thanks for the Just For Today reminder Mikef, that was a great message; especialy an addict like me who has a propensity for trying to think too much through. Best of luck at work too, you really ar an inspiration in my recovery with ong clean time, wel reinegratd into family, society, work, Fellowship and God and also very caring to addicts like me. God Keep you Blessed while I concentate on maintaining this gift.
Tisa, Ive been lucky to be in the good company of a hep.c. support group. My treatment is not over yet and I have about 18 weeks to go. The hope is that because Ive cleared it as of now, with the medications and new lifestyle hat this has brough with it, I will continue to stay cleared.
My treatment consisits of one injection of interferon a week and six tablets of ribovarin a day. The injections are painful; generate a feeling of the limbs being torn apart and need coping. They also bring on fever, lethargy, tension and sometimes depression and anxiety. The most severe side effects stay till two days and nites after the injections. Then again, the tablets are a real pain too because they have a tendency to bring down heamoglobin levels and this results in tiredness and breathllessness. Walking, a favourite pastime of mine has become a drudgery, while my studies are suffering becaus of the brain-fog.
Now that said, Im glad I heard many NA's share about their success with the treatment and that was one of the primary motivators for my opting for treatment. My main concern was not the physical pain but any mental trauma I may go through. Luckily because of support form the nurse specialists, hep.c. group and NA,s and friedns ive been ok with all that.
In conclusion, I'd like to say that it is better to be treated than to hopethat it will clear magically. I wish you all the best, in either case Tisa, you are worth it !

Prayers for everyone. It's amazing what kind of torment, crud-ola, and stuff we go through, yet in sobriety we still find some peace and hope, no matter what...and often in spite of ourselves. My beloved is in the hospital again-second time in as many weeks and they don't have a clue what to do...severe pain, probably elated to colitis, but he's in good spitits (beter than me) and I guess god'll walk through it with us, so like th eprogram teaches, jsut take one step after another!!

Raman, I also hope it stays gone too brother. The measuring stick is a few years. All the best, and great courage for you to go ahead with treatment. I had no idea that you had started.
Thanks Dean bro. The National Health Service in England is good but they have no idea of what real informed consent is. They told me about the medications and the duration but not about how the testing is to be done for 3 years after treatment. But I am not discouraged by that tenure and am actualy greatful that not only has the virus cleared off for now, but as the specialists say, my genotype has great chances of staying cleared. There are things like avoidance of stress, healthy eating habits etc. that can be practiced to maintain health. I know however that this is another opportunity to practice the NA Principle of doing things on a Just For Today basis. Staying in the here and now has the most promise for me !
