When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, when the road you're truding seems all uphill, when the funds are low, and the debts are high, and you want to smile but you have to sigh, when care is pressing you down a bit, rest if you must, but DON'T YOU QUIT.
life is queer with its twists and turns, as everyone of us sometimeslearns, and many a failure turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out; don't give up though the pace seems slow, you may succeed with another blow.
sucess is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt, and you never can tell how close you are, it may be near when is seems so far. so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, it's when things seem worse, that you must not quit.
i thought that this didn't just go for me with what i'm going though right now. but with everyone of us in NA and AA.
i just had surgery on my only lung i had so i'm not up to been the old jayson yet. but i will soon the old jayson without the drugs in my life. 2years now and proud of it.

Gosh Jason you are a born fighter. you're not the kind that'd ever give up. Im like you too,I'd much rather go down fighting than quit on a good thing. You rock buddy, you have inspired me immensely, God keep you Blessed as i know will be Sensei !

This is a Don't Quit poem that I have framed in my bedroom. And with me, sometimes I read it and go, "yeah, right... as if...". And, with me, most times I am proven wrong with that attitude.
Don't Quit Don't quit when the tide is lowest,
For it's just about to turn. Don't quit over doubts and questions, For there's something I may learn.
Don't quit when the night is darkest, For it's just a while 'til dawn. Don't quit when I've run the farthest, For the race is almost won. Don't quit when the hill is steepest, For my goal is almost nigh. Don't quit, for I'm not a failure Unless I fail to try.
Thanks cleanNotsober,, just the verse I needed to hear this awful morning,,, in fact i done even know if this an awful morning made ok by acceptance or a great morning made awful by my lack of acceptance ! Im greatful that these things make me reach out to other recovering addicts,,, Im happy in the knowledge that I cant do it on my own, and that help and support are just an ask away !

This is what works for me! I heard a speaker talk like this a few months ago. It was short sweet and simple. We have to have a simple program so that we will not stray because we get mad at the program.
"NO MATTER WHAT..... DONT F++KING USE" NO MATTER WHAT!
That is as simple as it gets! Hope this helps someone. It sure helped me! By the way, ill have 2 years clean on aug. 8th.... and I did it one hour at a time with the help of you people around the tables......
