finding THE meeting...

Just wanted to share an experience I had last night. Ive become friends with a couple people at my IOP, started with just staying after longer and talking for awhile then to going out to Dennys or where ever to grab a bite and some coffee or whatnot, but then this guy Bill invited me to a Fri night meeting with him so I said sure. And thanks to him I think I found a meeting that fits me! (finally) Its an hour and a half long (10 - 1130pm), great open people who want to help and all most everyone stays a good 30 min after still talking and helping anyway they can (as opposed to alot of meetings Ive been to where people take off ASAP), but my FAV part is that the meeting takes place in CANDLELIGHT!!! I LOVE THAT!!! There is something about it that just eases me...anyway I just wanted to share that with you all, and was wondering if anyone else has been to a meeting like that or if anyone else has a story about finding "their meeting" .....
Once again I also just want to Thank all of you who have helped me through this "rough patch" in my life, with the loss off my good friend, and the kind words as well as the posts and words as I was going through the first bit of my withdraws...It really means ALOT to me so THANK YOU ALL.
Now just gotta deal with the P.A.W.S....I hope everone is doing well , I send you ALL my best!

Yeah, I can relate...my main meeting, my life-saving meeting, through the early 80's and into the mid 90's was a Friday night Candelight meeting. My daughter was between  5 and maybe 12 or so, and as a single parent on welfare I had to drag the poor kid everywhere I went. She used to play under the table at the meeting, until she fell asleep. But, it kept me straight, helped me get sober, kept us both safe, and gave us some "family". The "darkness" lifted by the candles was so soothing, it really was uplifiting.  Afterwards we'd go to a pancake house called Aunt Sarah's, for the meeting after the meeting. Thanks for provoking the memory.
