Hi Renae, thanks for your post. Dean nailed it....if you want NA friends in recovery, you need to go to NA meetings and get involved. An oldtimer once told me that the best way to stay away from OLD people, places, and things is to 'embrace the fellowship.' You can't do that online. Cyberfriends certainly enhance my recovery, but they don't keep me clean, nor can I effectively work the steps without a face to face sponsor. Welcome to the board and keep posting. Welcome Renae just Google whatever area you live in "tampa florida Narcotics Anonymous meetings" and see if you get some results.
Sorry to say the meetings here aren't covered every night with chairpersons we just can't get enough support but i do the Wednesday meeting like clock work so would invite you to at least that night 7pm west coast and 10 pm east coast time.
AND to anyone wanting to be in service with at least 6 months clean time, those meetings are great places to help newcomers which is mostly what we get there when people show up, inquisitive newbies wanting to know what NA is all about.
