Hi everyone, I am amazed what you guys have done to this site. It is wonderful. I don't know much about it yet but it makes me feel better that I can at least have someone to talk to and don't even have to pick up the phone or leave my house. Sometimes a person gets tired of going to the same meetings, seeing the same people and hearing the same stories. Besides those issues, I have a hard time with people who steal your medicine behind your back and than you see them at a meeting and they say that they have so much time clean. I guess I could say they chased me out of my meeting and I haven't been back. I am sure I will get over it but right now I would like to learn how to work the steps. I am glad your here. Thank you for offering this site.
Hi Gem! So glad you are here:) Do you have a sponsor? For me, having a sponsor that is available face to face is vital to my recovery. Sounds like you have been dipping in and out of recovery? Tell me more about you if you don't mind:) i would be more than happy to be a support to you. My active addiction brought me somewhere I never imagined I could be; giving birth high and my baby being born meth-exposed. I surrendered in that moment. It took an explosion so to speak for me to wake up and realize that i can't lie to myself about my using. Thank God i found NA, a place where I see people recovering every day I'm in a meeting, working this simple spiritual program. i know it can get redundant going to the same meetings... do you live in a small town? This forum is a good place to reach out to other addicts. i find when I get sick of the same old people saying the same thing that usually its me with the problem:) I pray for God's will and that He will reveal to me what He wants me to hear that day for my recovery, even if it is coming from the guy who always talks about work... LOL I love you sister... PrayPrayPrayPray... That's the solution for me when other stuff seems to stop working. In reality its US that stop working it.. the program always works, right??
Hi, Thank you so much for the help. No, I don't have a sponsor. I have to find one that stays on my butt. I have a problem with calling them and have told my past sponsors that I would like if they called me everyday, but they don't. I really do need to start working the steps. That is one thing that I haven't done. Another thing, Can you please tell me how to use this site. I had a hard time just seeing your reply. Thank you. Have a good day.
Dont let anyone run you out of meetings, ignore the BS and take the good stuff home with you.
YOU need to call your sponsor this is part of taking responsibility for YOUR problem, the sponsor is your support but you also help them enable giving back what they have so its a two way street.
You can see if others are online down at the bottom of the page on the front page of this message board in the FORUM STATISTICS under WHO'S ONLINE

HEY Jodene' welcome to the site..yes meetings can be 'adventorus" to put it mildly.try and find a group to make your home group and maybe do a little service there(make coffee, set up chairs, greet at the door>these help you get involved and get to know others better. not all that go to meetings are there for the right reason.do what is right for "your"recovery.(dont hold resentments as they will hold "you" back)easier said then done...definitely get a sponsor though its like fishin without a pole if you dont get hooked up..keep comin back here also most here on this site trying to spread the message of strength ,hope and experience..look forward to hearing back from you peace mikef

Aly, Hi, Hope your having a good day. So, I have a question for you. Where do I begin in working the steps? Thanks for the input, I needed to think about that. I am blessed that you were there for me. Thank you.
I began working the steps by getting a sponsor and calling him. Then I started being honest, open minded, and willing. When the pain which was my life got so great, I finally reached out for help. No one but ourselves can say we are addicts, and our lives have become unmanageable.
Then you have to come to believe that a power greater then yourself can restore you to sanity. AND YOU BY YOURSELF CAN NOT.
Then praying for knowledge of god's will, and asking for his help become part of your life. Praying for those who you feel have wronged you is a good idea as well.
Hi BigV, Thanks for all your help. I do have a sponsor now and I asked her tonite what do I need to do. She told me to read the 1st step in the AA/NA book, so I will read it. I already know that I am powerless, I have been through treatment about 11 times now if that don't say something, I don't think another time will make a difference. I am not the one to find out. I am done. It does not get any better out there and there is no way to change it except surrender and do it right. Stay clean. Right.Right. So, I am going to go lay down and read the book. I don't know if anything new will come out of it, I will just ask god to reveal to me what he wants me to hear tonite. I really am interested in getting on some 12 step meetings. When are they? God Bless
