hi - i was wondering if anyone knows where in the basic text or any other literature is there a paragraph or two about focusing on the similarities not the differences. Or any insight on the importance of this by you awesome brothers and sisters would be great too:0 Just finished my 7th and am coming to understand humility (thought I would be practicing it perfect once i finished, lol) I have found myself putting people below or above me all my life. i'm happy to be free from that or at least be working on it;0 Anyway..... I know this 'focusing on similarities not the differences' is vital to recovery in so many ways... I would just love to hear your guys' thoughts on the subject:) thank you!!
After coming to N.A., we found ourselves among a very special group of people who have suffered like us and found recovery. In their experiences, freely shared, we found hope for ourselves. If the Program worked for them, it would work for us.
We meet addicts like ourselves who are clean. We watch and listen to them and realize that they have found a way to live and enjoy life without drugs.
I did just a quick search in chapter 2 and found a lot there.
I have such a close kinship with people in the rooms yet I don't constantly want to be around them LOL, I know where to find them , those I can absolutely totally and unequivocally relate to on this planet more then anyone, other addicts.
