A 16-year-old Rockwell driver is in critical condition in a Charlotte hospital after a Christmas Day wreck on Faith Road.
Adam Muncy of 512 Salisbury St., Rockwell, was critically injured in the accident around 8:15 p.m. Thursday.
Trooper D.T. Sloop of the N.C. Highway Patrol said Muncy had internal injuries. He was airlifted from the scene to Carolinas Medical Center.
Muncy, who got his learner's permit on Dec. 3, 2007, was driving a 1997 Ford Contour north on Faith Road in excess of the posted 45 mph speed limit, according to the patrol report.
The vehicle went off the right side of the road.
Muncy over-corrected and crossed over the the yellow line into the southbound lane.
A 2000 Toyota driven by Demika Wallace, 28, of 6456 W.T. Harris Blvd., Charlotte, struck the Muncy vehicle in a near T-bone fashion as it crossed the roadway.
Wallace, along with two passengers, Deborah Wallace, 46, and Tydajah Wallace, 6, were taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center.
All three members of the Wallace family were transferred to the trauma center at Carolinas Medical Center.
A spokesman for the hospital said the Wallaces were discharged Friday.
Trooper Sloop said charges are pending
This was the article in todays paper. Adam is still not doing well. His blood pressure and heart rate DO react when someone comes in the room or speaks to him. He has had a shunt put in his brain to relieve pressure. They removed his spleen as it was destroyed. His pelvis is shattered. Still no pupil reaction to light.
Thanks for your prayers. please keep doing it. Bennett (my son) Is holding up well.

Man o man he's in bad shape. Things in a car happen in slit seconds.
Will Keep him in prayer I had to drive to the hills yesterday and again today 2 lane road not a good road everyone but me speeds but only cause I already got a ticket on that road last month so now I watch my speed and watch other drivers closer they're all speeding unless they end up behind me now LOL.
Anthony man, I am really feeling the pain of what your son is going through with a very good friend like that. I thank God every day I am in recovery now. I was always the bad driver while in active addiction. I remember one time I was speeding and I flipped another person's car and no one was hurt Thank God. Then just last Feb. I was coming out of a gas station and I was t-boned and that lady hit me with a nissan range rover and flew me into on coming traffic and I spun around and my rear end hit another suv. I was saved by that suv though and if it wasn't for that SUV the cop thinks the lady would have flipped my car and possibly killed me. I know my Guardian angel was watching over me that was my mom. My HP really doesn't want me dead at all. He wants me alive more than anything.
Thanks, Anthony, for keeping us posted. Our continued prayers are for Adam, his family, and your son. May God's grace see you all through this tragedy. We love you!
