Its the day after Christmas. I thought the day was done and had laid down for the night. Good day all things considered, I got calls from all moved out kids, Two of them came over. I went to visit my father whom I hadn't spoken to in over 18 months And began that amends process. My youngest son and I went to see my grandmother , his great-grandmother. Because my youngest son came with me (last minute) he was late visiting with his friends. He called his best friend and they decided to meet at another friends house one following the other. There was an accident involving the car my son was not in. He saw his friends headlights go off the road about a half mile behind him. He turned around and rolled onto the scene of a head on collision . My son stayed at his friends side until paramedics got there . My sons friend was airlifted to carolinas medical center and we spent the night at the trauma center. Adam M. is this morning fighting for his life. My son fighting for the strength and composer to be thier for his best friend. Any prayers for this young man would be greatly appreciated.
One last thing. Thank you God for giving me this chance to support my son and be clean. On any other Christmas night I would have been to tweaked out to make the trip.

Anthony G, I have a question for you? Do you go to HOW group meetings? sorry not the place to ask but you mentioned Carolina's Medical Center and if you are in my area let me know. I believe I know who you are. I am sorry about all that happened to you and all this Christmas. I am praying for you, your son and his friend. I had a rough Christmas myself, but I can honestly say I got through another one clean and serene this time around. It was hard but it is a successful one for this year. I am grateful to network, NA family, Sponsorship family for helping me. I am one grateful addict for today!
Anthony, everything happens for a reason. You now have come full circle with this. Who better than you to be there with your son regarding your experience at his age. Hopefully this brings closure. Praying for your family and Adams.

My girlfriends cousin on Xmas day got bit by a dog that tore part of his eye lid and even a part of his eye they were able to repair the eye and lid in surgery , the dog used to be there a pit bull but was given to another family member some time back, the dog for no known reason just came up to him and I guess he had his face close the dog attacked for no apparent reason.
I have to have a long talk with my girls 14 year old son he told me in confidence that at our Xmas dinner him and his cousin got into the booze and had made themselves a drink he said he was buzzed when he told me, I told him I really didn't want him telling me this stuff because it puts me in a position to have to tell his mom and I did tell his mom but also told her to give me a chance to have a talk with him I want him to trust me but I also want him to know I can't keep secrets about him from his mother so need ot handle it delicately, he also needs to know what to expect from drinking and that its not all fun and games there can be serious consequences to drinking and drug use.
Anyhow i hope and pray for both those boys, that must have been very difficult for your boy to go through and I am glad to hear the communictation is back with the others.
