One of my cats is an addict

Have learned over the last few weeks that one of the characteristics of the addict mindset, point of view, is we are stimulus augmentors.  We not only seek stimulus, we embellish, inflate, whatever word you want to use, that stimulus.  To put it simply, we make mountains out mole-hills in a way that causes us harm and dysfunction which increases our discomfort, hurt and pain, which increases our desire to numb the pain, hence a cycle of addiction.  We need to stop being stimulus augmentors in order to live sober lives.

Once a month on Sunday afternoon is pet bath day in my house.  Home from church, inbetween games, etc., and so we do our 2 dogs and 4 cats.  Once a month mind you.  Its actually good for the cats once and awhile.

3 of the cats are fine with it.  One of our dogs is a golden retriever/rotweiiler mix and for Rufus, he would prefer to live in a bath.   Other dog puts up with it, doesn't like the water.

However one cat, man does he make a huge deal out of getting a bath.  And in doing so makes every aspect of the bath horrible.  And then he sulks for days acting like a total victim.  And its GOOD for him.  Screams like a little girl while getting his bath.  I man just like a little girl.  Its so silly its funny.  Its like his meower gets stuck in little girl squeaky mode and as hard as he tries to be a tough guy and scare me out of bathing him, it just makes me laugh and he gets a bath any way.

How often have I done the same thing?  Way too often.

Jim

LOL to funny

I gave one of my cats a bath when I first brought her home that was 12 years ago she just passed away this last Xmas, anyhow she ripped my leg open all the way to the muscle nearly had to get some steeches still have the scar to show for bathing a cat.

Since then I now have 4 more and I have never given ANY of them a bath, a few really should be getting them ( they dont clean well enough ) 2 of the long hairs get a lot of knots , should i be bathing them ? will it keep them from getting knots and me from having to pin them down to comb those suckers out?? because they hate that too HEH HEH I know it hurts I try to stay on top of it but , well I don't .

But yeah I get your drift YES I whine like a big ol baby make ALPS out of mole hills HAH I try to work on it and most often have to take imaginary needle and thread ans sow my mouth SHUT, suck it up is right!!!

While using, we (me and 4 other using partners) did have 3 pomeranians that loved chocolates sandwiched with marijuana, and we also had a parrot who was chronically addicted to marijuana seeds... one day we set it free, God knows what terrible withdrawals it would have gone through...
