Hey gang!

Had another let down of a meeting tonight.  Was glad to be there b/c there were some new people who needed guidance but I got there a bit late and there wasn't a chairperson present so even when I tried to redirect the meeting and get it on the right track...it went down the tubes.  It gets old.  We need to figure out a way to let people know before they log on that it is not an open chat and we need to try to be more organized for our own sanity.

 I agree dalana , the meetings are or can get a bit sloppy . iI can only get to them on fri. or sat. nights now.but on those days we either have no admin. or the admins late. BUT , i dont think of is as a big problem as of yet..i think you might be able to relate to this story of Anthony the addict..1 . start getting cash together , cant find enough 2. start making phone calls , beg or borrow all i can, still not enough 3.  find something i can pawn , still not enough 4. go to cash advance place and get next weeks paycheck . 5. oh yeah , got the cash.4 hours effort pays off. 6. call man. call man again.man not home call for 2 more hours. man finally picks up. says he will be there in two hours 7 . show up at mans house early . 8 . wait 5 hours for man.  9 man finally shows , only has 1/4 of what i wanted. 10.drive home pissed off 14 hours after starting getting cash together.   now i was that willing to get high. i went through that much effort. a disorganized meeting is still a meeting. i figure HP wants me there. last sat. i had a very good one on one with another addict who helped me alot. i was very greatful she was there.so even though the meeting was possibly a bust. i took from it a whole lot i needed. HP works in funny ways.Im not resposible for keeping you clean and i know you cant keep me clean. your working a really good program and i dig hearing from you. take what you need from meetings and leave the rest. organizations good , sanity is better . but im trying to take the meetings in stride. just keep coming back,hang in there..thanks Anthony.sun.gif

I know its difficult not being able to get control if your not OP status you have to be using mIRC to get that control.

On another note theres ways of doing it without having to take that sort of drastic control I use pyschology biggrin being very polite thanking everyone for there participation and thoughtfulness of others, though I have had to use the other option just a few times. There are times extremely rude indivuals who decide to hate on us come in the room and thats where the KICK BAN controls come in handy, again you need to have mIRC software setup on your PC for that to work.

We are there to serve ask the people in the room what THEY want to do they want a meeting type setting or just open discussion sometimes those are more fun and more people end up sharing then again some people are there for a topic type meeting.

The Chair people need to be on time they set an example I think i've missed one meeting in the year or more I have been doing it and been late once, this is an important part in my recovery, believe it or not I get as much from it then a new comer might, its one of the only meetings I get to in the week.

Dalana this has been going on since I have been coming here yeah I have at times gotten very worked up over things not running smooooooth I have hated it, the Admin " John" is a very busy person and can be difficult to get ahold of if you would like his number and you 2 can get together and get you setup with mIRC i'll be glad to forward you his number as I have with others who wanted to get things running better for themselves. Right now I have little time I am extrmely busy in the summer working its my trade and a time of the year when I make my money for the entire year summer gets me threw winter.

Sorry I can't be much help I do what I can do and often its not enough and thats why I always turn these things over to Admin John let me know if you'd like to discuss this with him be more then happy to forward his number to you.

Well I am new this is only my second post on this forum (I have an intro thread).

I am an addict. I am currently on Day 4 I won't go on details of my situation here my intro thread describes alot about me. I will be on all the online meetings I can stand to get into. I have work some nights (I work the night shift) I should be on Tonight (as in Thursday) and Sunday night for sure I work Fri/Sat at night.

I also plan to attend some NA meetings locally.
