Hi Staci,,, Raman an addict here,, I just finished playing my sax at a fine dining restaraunt. Nice scene,,nice pay and all,, but you know the gut feeling when alone in a drinking place !! Well anyways,,, there I am sitting for dinner after the show and i hear someone say hi,, I look to see Chef.K and another chef,,,Ks got 4 years clean and Ls got three months. Ka and i have shared recovery before and just last nite id thought of him,,, Im delighted to meet him and newman L... We share feelings,,, I thank them and we decide we will meet for at least 10 mins each time I play there,, when I take a break !! What more can I ask for than the company of recoverin people ???? and what better way to end a great day ??? thanks for being there too..

Hi Stacy and welcome looks like your an OLD TIMER :) we'd love to have you posting here on the board and especially helping the newcomers, thanks for introducing yourself its a privilege to have you here to share.
We can't hide can we Raman LOL I meet people all over who are in recovery its really kool. For instance I met a couple local guys here who prospect for gold also and we went on a few trips together well I ended up mentioning I was no longer using and found out that both of them are also recovering there not very active in a program but they have been and now there liven a good clean life, it was so cool to find these guys and I believe God is the one who guided me to them .
Hi Big V.. I'm happy to be here, happy to be anywhere! Was watchin a movie , not knowing ther would be scenes of folks actually using.. I closed my eyes until the offending scene was done and I got my literature and read.. ! Both good choices ..I can make those today. Being over 20 yrs clean.. it still feels good to make good choices.. The thrill of THAT is there when I do the right thing.. I don't have to pick up, no matter what!
Staying connected to recovery people in NA on a daily basis continues to help me a lot in being recovery-centered...
Making NA meetings regularly helps me stay clean and stay away from acting out on my addiction till this day...

Hi and Thanks.. Your Quote was just what I needed.. The Town I live in has almost ZERO transit system and it's quite spread out. But I am reminded that I have to ask God to make a way.. to get to meetings.. I'm surrounded by the exact oppisite of what I need so I need to surrender again.. to knowing what I can't control, and Take control of surrounding myself with who and what I do need. Today, I can do this! Thanks again ... I AM happy to be here.. happy to be anywhere!
