Hey all, Dave here. I have been thinkin about doin this for a long time. If I'm in the wrong place, could someone please send me in the right direction? Any help is greatly appreciated.
If alcohol is your main/only addiction then AA may be a better support group for you.
Looks like the sister group of this fellowship has a quite an active AA board honestly i have never posted there and i am an alcoholic but my main drug of choice is cocaine.
Heres the link for the AA board you are most welcome here anytime we work the very same steps, traditions the whole concept is the same just drug of choice is the only difference though I did AA for many years I found the NA literature more to my understanding.
Thanks bud, i appreciate it! I really do. Will check it out. I see you help alot of people out, by listening and replying. good for you, you don't know how much it means to someone with noone else to turn to. Thanks again and thanks for listening.
Welcome Dave, NA is open to all Addicts irrespective of their drug(s) of choice. And yes, alcohol has also been my drug of choice besides another half a dozen different drugs. What I love about NA is the fact that the focus of my recovery is not the drugs I used, but myself and my addiction that makes me obsessize with using drugs like alcohol, heroine, majiana, prescription pills etc.
Our first step says "We are powerless over our ADDICTION..."
This has been very vital for my recovery and personal growth till now even if I've been clean from using any drug for 4 years now. Still, my addiction is incurable and progressive in nature, manifesting in other ways through it's main symptoms of obsession, compulsion, denial, self-centeredness and spiritual void. Using drugs like alcohol and heroine was but just one symptom that I have arrested with the help of the NA program...
Keep coming back, more will be revealed
