I thought some of you might enjoy a picture of Aja, my rescue dog who comes to alot of meetings with me. I tell everybody who's feeling down to pick her up and give her a squeeze....
Aja was rescued four years ago, from a breeder who's still doing hard time. Her speciality is giving love to anyone who calls her. She's my first dog and I had no idea how much love they bring into your life.
When we brought her home, she became very sick, and our vet said she's dying, better take her down to U of Penn vet hospital. I was unsure how to react, and told myself that we wouldn't spend 1 dollar over 2 thousand in vet care. The Dr.at Penn looked at her then said "That will be $1,950" In retrospect my higher power was pulling strings for me. She bonded with me early on, and when I got divorced my ex said I should have her. She loves to come to meetings with me, and has a special knack of making people feel better.
One of my sponsees picked up a 45-day old Pug yesterday, what people here have come to call "Vodafone Pug" since the vodafone ad on tv has increased the popularity of these cute and pleasing pets.
I held this pup close to me for a while yesterday, and I was amazed how therapeutic an effect getting intimate with this pup could be for me
