oh god, please somebody help me. i cant control myself anymore. i started using drugs in my freshman year of highschool. i have an IQ of genius level, and made straight A's. as time went on those grades slowly fell. now im a freshman in college and spend more time high then i do sober. it started out as just a fun thing to do, but now, its taken over, but im afaid to go somewhere to get help. its all i think about anymore. i do everything i can get my hands on. i dont know what is wrong with me. its like ive become a monster. am i an addict? i dont know what to do!
If you think you need help, and you don't want to talk to parents/friends/etc.. just yet, go see the a therapist or doctor at your school.. i don't know if your college has all that, mine does and when i was trapt i went there earlier this year.. and they helped me out a lot.. but by then it was to the point where i was in such a bad place i had to leave school.. and they also helped me get a full tuition refund for "medical reasons" legally they can't tell anyone including your parents.. so don't worry and just get out there and talk to someone.. honesty can feel shameful.. but it will set you free good luck dude

Raman an addict clean and serene just for today in NA Worldwide ; live to love and love to live the NA Way !!!
Hi my names Blessed! I am a Recovering addict and an Alcoholic. You are in the right place, seeking the right answers. I will be, as others will also be praying for you. I am a praying recovering blessed addict, alcoholic, that has co-occuring disorders. I started smoking, drinking, and smoking pot at 13 years old. It however led me into lots of heavy drugs and heavier drinking. It lasted 28 years. I am blessed because I am working a 12-step program and we have a God that Loves us. He saved my life through the fellowship of both these programs. N.A. and A.A.
You asked if you are an addict? No one can answer that question you are asking yourself but you. If you have come to the conclusion that you can't live without some type of chemical in your system. Whether it is alcohol or drugs then you might want to go to a few open meetings of N.A. and A.A.
Listen to what is being shared in the rooms by some of the old timers (Old Recovering Members) Pick up the literature on the table about addiction, alcoholism. Each program, A.A. and N.A. are saving millions of addicts and alcoholics by working the same 12-steps of Recovery. It must work or people wouldn't go.
I strongly urge you to go to as many meetings as you can. We suggest 90 meetings in 90 days. That doesn't mean online meetings count for the 90 meetings. These meetings are fine to check in and say hi to others. Share your feelings, read and share on a Topic. But for your Recovery you need a Home Group, a Sponsor, a service commitment later on. Your Sponsor needs to take you through those 12-steps to Recovery. If you have made that decision. DO YOU want to stop using and drinking.
