Ok Vin,, here it is=
1.the first service i did for NA was to start a group (International Hope Group),, then to go out and give literature at hospitals and institutions and then share at few public places.
later the first elected position was as GSr of Reality when that was then the nly group here.
there i connected the group with WSO and got a registration done,, then had literature arranged,also attended the inagural Regional Meeting as rep.from Bangalore !!
2.thank God I never felt any overpowering urge to use( i never want to ever feel that way).
Im too weak willed for that and God saw it fit never to test me that way.
However Ive had my share of clean time before i came in to NA or 12 Steps.
Im greatful to be one of those who stayed clean ever since we met NA !!!I never want to change that fact !
well one thng that has worked for me is to pray,pray,pray and then listen for answers,,, almost to the point of being obssessed did i pray,,, following the suggestion
"when we pray more often,we will hurt less often"
3.the worst day /
well perhaps somehing that really upset me was winning the RD election after a recount but not being allowed to take up hat position and then aving to see the oser meber given that position,,, I havent understood that till this day and ascribe it to the reservations those members had against me,,,that was one of the worst days cause that totally devastated me and I ost good faith in the Hnesty of the Fellowship.
Many of those members still come to haunt me,,indeed even on my clean date gratis meetng the other nite,,, one of them sat there and blatantly broke my anonymity and gave a lot of wrong details and passed very hurtful judgements on me in a meeting that had many that did not know me well and may have been misguided about me from that false information.
I did not retaliate because that member claims he is sick etc,,,i showed him kindness and love by asking him to present me with my medallion,card and booklet,,, simply because he was a bit helpful when here was no NA here !!
this same member I believe influenced his sponsees and others to vote me out of a ASC chair,,simply because I wasnt "with them" on many issues.
When other areas ame to hear of this they asked
"why did you vote Raman out ?" and none of em had a valid answer !!
All i can say is over a pperiod of time ive learnt there are members who will teach me what to do for recovery and there will be those that will teach me what not to do so as to recover !!
