I'm not sure where to start here lol. I've never done an online recovery group before, but I am looking for support and a place to share my experiences with addiciton and how I can stay sober and focus on what I should. I've unsuccessfully looked for people in my life for those very things, but the people I associate with all use meth. Meth is my drug of choice, as well. I haven't been sober very long...not even 2 days, but I need to start somewhere, and this might be a good place to do it.
I hear ya, same monster had me! I suggest you find meetings and start going to them daily!! It is most important that you build a support group to help you stay clean. Get a sponsor too. I'm not gonna lie to you, it's gonna be tough...but I know you can do it if you truly want to, a day at a time.

Thanks for the reply. :) Yeah, it is hard to stay away from it...support is key in that. I had a sponsor back in march...I stayed off it just fine...then I saw him less and less, and began using more and more. Thanks also for the link to local meetings. I'll definitely use it. :) I've only been sober for a couple of days, but its a start, and I can only take it one day at a time. :) It feels great, being able to focus and hold normal conversation. Thanks again for the post :)
it's good you're trying to get help, and being clean for even a day is an achievement in my book, cuz that was a rare thing to happen when i was fully active in my addiction
Welcome Lucas,,, when i was a newcomer i was told "it dosent matter who u used with,, what ur drug of choice,how much or how little u used,,only whats your problem and how can we help ?" Evn a day clean is a great achievement and I know that though ive had continous clean time for many years now,,, its still all about living life on a just for today basis !! Responding to a newcomers request for help is something we all welcome !!

The simplest "formula " is= what kept me clean yesterday kept me clean today and if repeated will keep me clean tommorow too !! The basic promise is an addict,any addict can lose the desire to use and find a new way of life here in NA !!! All the best to you too,,,,believe me when i say that this Forum has been one of the greatest Bl;essings in my recovery and has given me very much by way of ongoing recovery and sanity !! I pray and hope the same for u too Lucas !!!!

Just hang on Lucas and catch as many meetings as possible maybe get ahold of that old sponsor and discuss some things you dont have to use him/her again but touch bases with someone who knows you .

We all came in with more problems then just our drug abuse and addictions and this program will help sort ALL of that other stuff out your first and formost responsibilty to yourself and your recovery are to stay clean so your on a good beginning the rest will follow.
Hi Lucas, you are going through a tough thing right now and we all understand it. That is where we come from. NA helps and will keep you clean. One day at a time sounds cliche' but it works. Get to the meetings and keep it one day at a time.
