And this was last weekend using my high banker on a river near by me I got some nice gold that day too but it was all flakes and flour gold

Yep thats another hobbie I got into a few years back,I spent many an hour learning to edit video.

Hey V, I like the little sluice. Looks like it works good. That's a decent nugget you found. That looks like lot's of fun.

My Dad, brother and myself used to have our own mine when I was a young fellow. During our spare time we used to grab the high grade ore, stick in a pipe with a closed bottom, then take a heavy bar with a flat bottom to beat and crush the rock up to powder, then sift it through a fine screen to get the bigger pieces of gold, cause gold don't crush and then pan the rest. Lot's of work but it was fun. I know it is off topic, but that was a nice thing for me to see. Thanks,

With the price of gold these days and its only going to go higher as the dollar drops, a lot of people will be getting back into mining it got up to $845 this month its down now at $775

Yup scott theres a bunch of us but it's much more modernized my metal detector has a chip in it that keeps information, it has a target analysis sytem that TELLS YOU whats been found, pretty neat stuff a bit technical but easy to use once you get the hang of it........

and now Carrie , my dear dear sister you think you twisted a rusty nail in me Eh? LOL , all good things take time its a process darling, life, recovery and gold prospecting too bleh

wish I could speed things up? hell yes but God only gives us as much as we can handle LOL.

I have had some good times, often grueling times climbing gullys and gulchs, walking over sharp broken granite rock, pulling dredged up hills and watching them tumble down once LOL . Have i gotten frustrated? OMG I once almost pushed my foot on my first dredge and shoved it out into the current I was so disgusted but I ENDURED and for that I have grown, my hobbie has helped me to mature in some ways especially with frustration and dissapointments .

Alas we must all be determined with a goal set in mind, mine is enjoying life on its terms .I see myself not getting rich from this but finding some satisfaction that I lived and lived good and loved life and nature and all it offers , we just have to go out and find it and make it happen.

The gold is at the end of the rainbow , get moving....... biggrin

Hi Big V, I was born and raised in Uranium City Saskatchewan, almost in the North West Territories Canada. The mine we had was in Kaslo BC on Kokanee Glacier, we had a ball mill near Kootney Lake. We got shut down because of the environmental issues. I now live in Bangkok (just transferred from Dubai) We have oil and gas operations running in quite a few countries including Thailand. Have not done the mining stuff since I was a kid. I just came back from PNG, the mining is going on there big time. Oil and gas is a small industry there, just got done moving 2 drilling rigs up into the Southern Highlands of PNG. Taking a bit of rest now.

Ken I worked on workover and drill rigs for several years fresh out of high school probably the toughest work most grueling i've ever done. The saying in those days was work hard PLAY HARD~!!!!

if the fench were or are around they'll find gold they even had stakes here in california during the gold rush era....

yes i was fine...fine as frogs hair..

was just a small show...good start for me... in an hour i sold 3 pieces and got 2 special orders..

talk about obssessions and compulsions...i'm on the lookout now for more craft shows...lol
