My first Sponsor used an expression to explain how this fellowship grows, "One becomes Two becomes Four becomes Many"
To look back at how it all started with two addicts called Bob and Bill and to find that spark become a raging fire today where millions are recovering through more than 200 different 12-step fellowships, what a miracle it is... surely Higher Power at work...
I also like the saying in the NA book "Sponsorship" - The heart of NA beats where two addicts share with each other"...
Glad that we have so many awesome members sharing and caring today at MIP. I welcome you all and am grateful to my Higher Power that you're all in my daily recovery today.

Since I found this board a few weeks ago I've been coming to it first thing in the morning and last thing before I go to bed. Along with meetings its been so important in helping me stay clean, especially so early in recovery. I didn't think I could do it 'on my own', until I met the great people in NA and realized I wasn't alone. You guys rock!

I feel so jaded regarding meetings right now that this board has been great for me. Although I don't always have something to add, I read most posts and appreciate that they give me recovery related topics to think about.
Hi Blithe, I feel the same way some times. Especially the online meetings. I tried an AA meeting last night. I got beat up pretty bad. I like listening to peoples problems and solutions in meetings. I learn alot. I said that I kind of felt kind of proud that I got out the pathetic hole I was in. A couple of people said "Hey do you think you did that yourself, AA did it not you, why would you be proud of yourself" I was like Whoa! what did I say that was so bad. Here I can respond to people and continue on with my recovery. I hope that you are doing good and will share with us. We like to listen!!

There are places like that , YOU made a DECISION that deserves some credit.
We want to live and live well, does God deserve all the credit? NO IMO, it takes an individuals DESIRE to get clean that comes from within the person themself to make such a step, God doesn't do that part I don't believe he gives us a mind to CHOOSE and make CHOICES that he has no part in........tellum THAT next time
Thanks everyone for sharing back we have alot of newcomers the newcomer is what keeps this going and going and I welcome all of you to recovery.
This is no easy task but neither was busting our ass out there to get high and doing all the things we did to stay high.
Life gets better life gets real and thats what we all need to learn more about the REAL stuff and how to handle it, hell at 45 I still have a lot of trouble and need help walking thru life.
I read something the other day Resentment " If a bird flys over and poops on you you pretty much have to accept it but you damn sure dont need to let him make a nest on your head". that how i'm starting to look at things situations, people, things that bother me , not going to let it nest on my head HEH HEH.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the good information. The bird story is so true. It helps me often. People do things to me, to try and upset me or get a reaction or to just gain some political influence. I have learned that just clean it up, wipe it off, watch the bird go by, don't let it set up house on (in) your head. Just get rid of it and move on, chances are it won't mean anything to you in the next month or even the next few minutes.
Take life easy and enjoy the moments of here and now.
