Hi everyone, I am new here. I could write a 10 page story but I will keep it short. Last Saturday while at the Americade motorcycle event in lake George NY I overdosed droped like a rock ended up in the emergency room in Glensfalls. I overdosed on pain pills.You know the drill had to take more and more over time had a very large tollerence built up. Started out taking them for real pain but it all just snowballed in to a addiction over time.I am luck to still be alive. I have been clean since last Saturday but it has been very very hard. sleepless nights and all. Thanks for listening.
Hey thats a reminder for me too,,,that we dont have to wait for an overdose or jail sentence to come to NA !!! Im an old timer ,,,,,19 odd years in recovery but always look to older members and newer ones to stay clean !!! This day earler i read of someone with 42 years clean,,, Gods sake thats almost as old as my biological(im 46 !!) then this evening i read your post,, which im reminded im an addict and im informed i never have to use again no matter what,,,,,JUST FOR TODAY !!! Kepp Coming Back,,, It Works !!!!

Thank God,I think I am through the worst of the withdrwal now.I hope I am.I know it is a never ending battle to stay clean.I will give it everything I have.
Hi everyone, I am doing better now,head is clearer and withdrawl is done. My wife and I took sometime off this week from work .We went to maine. Sometime away helped too.
You should get to a meeting. The suggestions they gave me were 90 meetings in 90 days, talk to other addicts, read the literature, get a sponsor, and help others. http://portaltools.na.org/portaltools/MeetingLoc/

I am doing ok Tahir. A strange thing has happened I am having very strong cravings for another addiction I have,And have had under control since 1997 alcohol, not the drugs now.Two demons to fight.
Welcome to NA, welcome to recovery, welcome to Miracles in Progress! Don't forget that alcohol is just another symptom of the disease of addiction. Alcohol is a drug.
Are you able to find meetings in your area? It's nice to connect with other addicts at meetings as well as online.
