Hi my name is Mayan and i'm an addict. I'm new to this and i'm still nervious. i'm trying to find some help. I'm from the Republic of Maldives, which most of you might not even heard of. We dont have any any NA here but i've attended some meetings in my neighbouring country India. And it was a great help for me. I came back few months ago after 10 months of recovery and i relapsed,after so many incidents, mostly because i know i need to be in meetings when i am helpless. Am trying to be back on my feet again with great affort since i dont want to be in the shit hole again and i know there's a way out. But i need help. I'm 7 days clean again after using for just 3 days and this i consider as my worst relaps because i know from deep insinde that i dont want to... But i was helpless. I want to surrender now to my self-will... I want some way out. Tomorow 15th March is my 29th b'day and i want to stay clean for the rest of my life... i wanna be able to say next year that i am 30 and i am clean for a year and hoping to be more....... am desperate.

I am clean ll months and that is the only way I have stayed clean today just one day at a time. I understand your fear cause I have the fear too. This fellowship has helped me....
Hi Mayan. Good for you for reaching out. You are in a difficult position by not having meetings near you, because it is definitely easier to work a program with meetings, but we do have meetings online at this site. If you attend them and participate in the chat room, you will get to know people and you will have a NA community of your own. Fear is actually probably your friend right now because it will help prevent you from doing things which will lead you back to using. It is when we become over-confident that we are in trouble. It is also important that you realize this is a "Just For Today" program. While the goal is to stay clean for the rest of our lives, if you psychologically think of it this way, it is too much to take on. Stay clean each day, just for today, and those days will add up.
