having the worst time, burning desire out the ass. help!

Hi,

I moved to Austin TX to get clean. Not court ordered, I did this for myself. My fiance is down here but seemingly wants nothing to do with me and gets angry that I am homesick when he didnt want me down here to begin with, not yet at least. I attend meetings religiously, before I look for job but my sobriety comes before I can commit to a job without doing it half assed. I tried working but got fired after 3 days because clearly Im not in the right mindset. MY fiance and I got in a fight and he spit in my face which is where I am going to draw the line as lonely as I am down here I am going to have to find my own way, sober. If anyone would like to reach out and guide me in this journey I could use the help and encourament because the only thing keeping me clean with proximity, and not knowing anyone that can get me high out here, but addicts are crafty and can find wherever they are. I dont want to get that desperate because nothing is more scary than surrendering and starting with my white key tag, nothing.

Please reach out!

I'm not in your area but hang in there! Making meetings is great. Hopefully, you will be able to find a sponsor and a home group and start working the steps. Things will get better if you start clean. It works if you work it,

It sounds to me like you are right in the middle of the 1st step. We need to surrender to our disease on a daily basis. No amount of hope will make for a better yesterday!

Hello and welcome to MIP! I am an addict named Mike

It is great that you are making meetings but "WE have found that those who value sponsorship, get the most from our program"  WE work toward daily recovery through the application of our solution,THE STEPS,applied in all areas of our lives, guided by a Power greater than ourselves and a Sponsor. I could only suggest ,seeking a Sponsor and start the daily work if you are not already there. Thanks for sharing your situation,we are here "one helping another " in a loving and caring manner.Incorporate the 1st STEP,100% and  and do whatever it takes to remain free  of active addiction.Hope to here more from you...Have a blessed and productive day..
