step 5 help

Just finished step 5 with a sponsee. He murdered 3 people from age 14-23 and never got caught. Im having a difficult time handling it all. Im doing my step 3 prayer with it, but it keeps popping back in my head randomly.

On the bright side. He is now on step 9 and extremely grateful for NA. He has already started sharing his experience atrength and hope with new comers.

I was taught what is shared between sponsor and sponsee should not be told to anyone . I hope he knows you posted this on MIP .

I think anonymous posts here are not revealing anyone's identity if done properly. I heard a Croatian soldier's story and he had some shocking revelations which can be forgiven . He even made amends to someone he tried to kill. My sponsor talks of forgiveness, even for murderers, if they are truly trying to find a new way to live. If you help your sponsee your HP is doing the work. It's not up to you to forgive him, that's up to a power that's loving, caring, forgiving and greater then us.

Wow, that's really some heavy stuff.
I agree that a sponsor should treat conversations with a sponsee as confidential, but this does push the limit.
I guess I would still maintain confidentiality but it would be hard to do.

Spoke with my sponsor and he said when he does 5th step work he says...."Don't tell me anything about something who's statue of limitations hasn't run out on."

Did i mention any names? You know how many michaelg sponsors there probably are in this world? Did i mention my sponsee name? This is completely anonymous. Thanks for the help for those who saw past that...

 IMO you be just fine and did nothing wrong. You have to take care of you and your Recovery and indeed did it anonymously. Kind of like shrinks who go to their shrinks to dump what's been dumped on them.
