That can be tough to deal with because in many areas there just aren't any alternative meetings to attend. In my county we have some 40 meetings a week. If you want to change it up, just go elsewhere.

For me, I've found when my mind is telling me things aren't going the way I think they should be going, it's my time to pray for enough patience to hear the message that my HP

Maybe seems new to your home group, been commonly read in opening format in most meetings I've attended for 30 some years. It's about the meeting having an atmosphere and message of Recovery to best serve the newcomers. Someone who got loaded that day can only offer how to get loaded that day not stay Clean.

There are no rules and regulations, no musts in NA. The Only Requirement for Membership is the Desire to Stop Using. We learn how to stay Clean and Live life on life's terms by listening to those who have successfully gone before us. My best thinking got me here it didn't get or keep me Clean. Willingness and open mindedness are keys to my successfully Living in Recovery going on 35 years of One Day at a Times.

Hi Mike, sorry but 1st you wrote the rule/regulation that i spoke of.
[If you have used today please listen a talk to some body after the meeting.]
Then you wrote some NA quotes dis crediting the rule/regulation.
[There are no rules and regulations, no musts in NA. The Only Requirement for Membership is the Desire to Stop Using.]

I do not understand Mike,It sounds to me that you do not understand and are a bit confused as well.
Could you please explain the "catch-22"?

Does anybody else know of any NA literature that speaks on this subject?
Thanks

No confusion no catch-22. Being a Member doesn't mean it makes sense to have people sharing in a Group meeting about getting loaded that day. You are a Member when you say you are. The Groups primary purpose is to provide an atmosphere of Recovery. No Catch-22.

Stick around a while. The NA Way works when you work it.

Mike How do you know what that using member will talk about?
Maybe he/she would want to talk of the pain he/she is in.
What makes you think he/she would talk about getting loaded?
I have been clean longer than you Mike and over the years i have seen/heard
many a using addict poor out his or her pain just what they needed.
You have been around long enough to know better than to judge Mike.

I think it may be about context.

If a newcomer tries to pour out his pain, does the chairperson immediately tell him "Hey, you need to just listen!"? If so I don't agree with doing that.

However if someone who is high that day, and wants help, starts sharing incoherently or about his tractor for 45 minutes, I don't think it's a bad SUGGESTION to give them, to maybe just listen. One of the best suggestions I've been given in my recovery by my sponsor and many other addicts was to listen.
