The days of our lives...

Some interesting developments around these parts lately...

Though to simplify I often describe the disease that I have as being a form of MS, that's not actually accurate.  Like MS, it is an chronic autoimmune muscular disorder, but after that similarity, the two are different.  The disease that I have is actually called MG - or myasthenia gravis.  No cure, no real treatment and the medication they give with it helps so little that I can't tell the difference between taking it and not taking it.

Basically, and in a nutshell, my body doesn't produce the gas that makes the muscles go.  I refer to it as muscle gas.  My nerves tell the muscles to go - the muscles run out of gas and the muscles look sideways at them and say, "Need more fuel!"  Oddly, heat slows nerve conduction - odd because heat usually speeds things up but not in this case.  So, walking to the mailbox in January is doable - but walking to the mailbox when it is 80 degrees out is not possible.  Adding to this problem is the fact that when the muscle runs out of gas, it'll borrow gas from any available source - which means another muscle group.  Unfortunately, there is no discrimination used in where it gets the gas from.  Today it might borrow a bit of muscle gas from my back muscles - tomorrow it might take it from my respiratory system - which means I stop breathing.  Hence, it's pretty important that I don't push myself, especially when it gets hot.  For me, as it varies with everyone with this disease, hot is right at about 72 degrees.  Today it's going to be 103 degrees.  All week it's been like this...Sunday I did a face plant going from the truck in a handicapped spot to the front door of the meeting ten feet away.  Too hot and couldn't make it.  So...where am I going with this?

My wife's dad just got diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer to go along with his advanced lung cancer.  He's scheduled for radiation starting today and the wife is heading down there to be with him on Sunday.  It'll mean a bus ticket with money that isn't there (I've applied for SSDI but am still waiting) along with the loss of a week's income.  You know, I just typed out that 'it'll be a challenge' and then erased it - HP's got this and so it'll only be a challenge if I let fear find a resting place and that's not likely.  I just forgot who I was talking to for a moment and that you folks would understand that.

Anywho...then last night we got an eviction notice.  Nothing we did wrong - we moved in here and now the woman wants to move her daughters family in and we're in the way.  So we have to go.  Okay, that'll work.  Of course we've got a disabled man who can't work, a woman who is on parole, a cat, a 130 pound dog, a horse and no money.  How hard can this be?  lol  I can't pack, let alone move our stuff.  I can't lift my body in this heat...I can't move our stuff and the wife won't be here to move it...assuming we find a place with that list of strikes against us.  Fortunately, my HP let me know it was coming three days ago and we got a jump start on looking - HP says find a new place to live right now, we start looking right now.  We've put feelers out there and we've got till the end of the month.  I'll let you all know how this situation solves itself over the next two weeks.  Stand by for a miracle.

Unreasonable faith trumps reasonable fear.  Every. Single. Time.

Watch; it'll be fun. :)

....mannn,,,,a list like you've got makes 'just stay clean' seem easy!!..................good you've still got humor on your side!

...in my area,an eviction of that nature would be 3 months -written- notice.....what's the actual law there?

.......''Unreasonable faith trumps reasonable fear. Every. Single. Time.''....I.Like.That!......In my understanding,'faith' it a trust in something that's beyond -rational- understanding--works for me....there's -many- times an answer comes that's well and beyond anything I could imagine!!!..........keep on keeping ON!!!!

Well, if we were getting mail here then it would be one thing - but there's no mail delivery here.  Regardless, it doesn't really matter whether the law is on our side or not though.  This place belongs to my wife's sponsor - or rather, her sponsor when we moved in.  When my wife asked her to be her sponsor, we didn't know the extent of this woman's mental illness.  More has been revealed. ;)  In addition, the woman has stopped taking her meds to keep her mental illness at bay, stopped going to meetings and started using again.  We need to go anyway.  She's the type who, "wouldn't hesitate to beat herself up, call the cops and say that he did it" which is in quotes because she recently told us this in regards to someone else - such a person is too dangerous to be around on a good day - really too dangerous to be around if she wants you gone.

The only thing that's kept us here this long is the lack of mortal options.  Fortunately, we've got backup and HP is on the move.
